How can I create a PDF file from my WebCATS Report?

At OutreachSystems, we have often gotten the request to enable WebCATS to create PDF files. This led us to research ways that we could facilitate such a process. We discovered a number of programs that can be installed on a user’s machine or a Terminal Server that can create PDF files from other applications. Some are fee based and others are free. We found one in particular, called PDFCreator, that is free and easy to use.

The following steps will guide you through the installation and use of PDFCreator to generate a PDF report file from WebCATS.

Download and install PDFCreator from here.

This will install a new printer on your machine named “PDFCreator.”

Now, generate the report in WebCATS that you wish to make into a PDF file.

Right click anywhere on the report and select Print
Select the PDFCreator printer.

Set up the file to your specifications on the resulting screen and click on Save. You may chose other options, such as eMail as well.

Viola! You now have a PDF to use as you wish.
