Organizations Served
OutreachSystems serves hundreds of outreach program offices across the United States—and even a couple found in Mexico, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
Why outreach programs? As you'll read on our history page, OutreachSystems grew up providing client activity tracking services to PTACs and SBDCs. Thus, we're intimately familiar with the concept of tracking outreach assistance, as well as the impact of that assistance. As a result, WebCATS is wholly geared toward this unique not-for-profit paradigm.
Until recently, WebCATS' primary audience was DLA- and SBA-funded centers. Because the DLA and SBA fund a large portion of economic outreach in the United States, and because their requirements are so consistent and specific, the data entry forms and reporting capabilities in WebCATS cater to the commonalities that exist among programs reporting to one or both of these federal agencies. However, with the introduction of the Custom Activity Forms Module in 2007, programs can now build their own unique forms and reports to track any type of specialized assistance provided to clients.
Today, you'll find that many types of outreach programs take advantage of WebCATS, including:
- Chambers of Commerce
- Economic Development Centers (EDCs)
- International Trade Centers
- Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs)
- Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs)
- Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs
- Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs
- Veterans' Business Outreach Centers (VBOCs)
- Women's Business Centers (WBCs)
