In the September issue of our newsletter, we brought you the news of Len Price’s encounter with a flower delivery van, which resulted in a hospital stay and badly broken arm. But we’re happy to report that Len is back on the scene and doing well! He has some words for all of you:
A warm “Thank You” to everyone for your cards, e-mails and prayers while I was out of commission. I am back now, though I still have a ways to go for complete recovery. The humerus bone in my right arm was completely fractured at the point of impact. Although bone is still growing and strengthening around the fracture, it is pretty stable at this point.
The bigger issue is the radial nerve palsy that occurred with the fracture. The nerve damage should repair itself, but it is a long process, maybe another 15 months, so I am trying to be patient. It severely limits the functionality of my hand, wrist, and forearm, but I’m getting pretty good at one-handed keyboarding. Good thing I’m left handed!
Anyway, it is great to be back and I am in good spirits. I really appreciate all of the goodwill expressed in your cards and e-mails. Things could have been a lot worse, I have heard many horror stories, and I am truly fortunate to have so many friends like you that care about me. Thank you!
